The Hyatt Place Phoenix/Mesa receives mixed reviews, with guests consistently praising the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the convenient location and good breakfast offerings. However, there are significant recurring concerns about outdated rooms, particularly regarding furniture quality and cleanliness, with carpet and shower issues consistently mentioned.
The Hotel is very outdated the carpet is old the curtains had stains and the beds were not comfortable the one bed sank in the middle. The good thing very close to Sloan Park and the front desk people were great very nice. The lady at the desk did say they are going to remodel in May definitely could use an upgrade
The room was not great. Stains on the carpet. Dated. Furniture all scuffed up. Shower curtain rod about to fall off. The layout was good though. The other services made up so much for the room. The continental breakfast was better than I expected. Coffee ?. Pool and hot tub were great. And Claudia at the front desk and the other support staff were great. Claudia above and beyond. I was really wondering how this had such high rating and I do think the staff is why.
Nice hotel with good amenities. Did a 3 day stay here while visiting the area. The hotel is located in a shopping area that offers a movie theater, dining restaurants and various stores. The area is quiet and doesn't get a lot of foot traffic. The front desk staff was welcoming and answered all our questions about our stay.
Overall, the stay was pretty good and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was clean, but the furniture and TV felt a bit outdated. One downside was breakfast — we found a piece of plastic in the food, which was concerning. Also, there was no body lotion provided in the room. With some updates and better attention to breakfast quality, this could be a better experience.
Stayed at Hyatt Place Phoenix/Mesa. The breakfast was good overall, with a decent variety. However, the orange juice didn’t taste good. The soda station in my room and some of the seating areas were a bit small and felt cramped. The stay was okay, but there’s room for improvement.
Super friendly staff and nice free breakfast. Housekeeping service seemed to be very diligent. Nice pool area to relax. Main drawback is the outdated rooms. Good location in the East valley.
The staff at the hotel were absolutely wonderful—very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. However, since it’s a pet-friendly hotel, I think it would be a good idea to replace the carpet with vinyl flooring. The carpets held onto a lot of pet odors, and the couches had a strong smell as well. Leather or faux leather furniture might be a better option since it’s easier to keep clean. The room was also quite dusty, which made my allergies worse. I’m allergic to pets, so the combination of carpet and lingering pet dander made it difficult to stay comfortable. I also noticed that the sheets and towels had stain marks, which was disappointing. Overall, the staff were great, but the cleanliness and furnishings could definitely use some improvement.
We stayed here for 2 nights and our experience was good. The front desk staff was friendly and the check in process was breezy. The room was spacious for 2 Queen beds and a sofa (and I think it is a pull out couch but can't remember since we didn't check it out or needed it). The microwave and fridge is by a small counter with a sink. It also has a little desk and chair too for any work you want to do. The bathroom was decent and clean and the shower/tub and toilet is in one room with a door while the sink and dresser is right next to it, which makes it very convenient and you don't have to wait for someone to be done with the shower/toilet in order to use the sink. The beds are very comfy and clean. The dresser with drawers is quite dated and scruffed up though. It should be updated cuz it makes the room cheaper in quality and looks. The pool area is nice and has towels for guests to use. We used it 2 nights and the first night we had the pool to ourselves but the second night was full of people and kids. There weren't any towels available when I got there, so I went to front desk and asked for some. They also refilled the towels straight away once they heard that. I gave them props for doing that right away cuz they really cared about their guests. The free breakfast was very good! Much better in spread and quality than some hotels, for sure. It has sausages, scrambled eggs, potatoes, wraps and various breads, bagels. Has fresh fruit, yogut, hot oatmeal, boiled eggs, various milk types, juices and coffee and assorted cereal. Definitely a nice, good spread and they keep everything filled and refilled quickly. There's a lady who also helps keep the area clean and tables cleared quickly. Kudos to the staff for that, both the back and front staff! 2 things, though, I would suggest the hotel to consider: 1. While the closet has sufficient hangers, I find the room is lacking hooks to hang towels or your clothes, esp in the bathroom where you want to hang your towels. Some wall hooks would make it more convenient for guests. 2. The towel rack in the bathroom/shower is all rusty underneath. REALLY should change it cuz not only it looks terrible/gross, it isn't sanitary, health/safety wise. Overall, it was a good, clean hotel, has friendly staff, good breakfast spread and location is safe and clean. I would come back here again.
Price was affordable and the location was convenient, right off the freeway. The room was spacious. The sheets and bedspread had a few stains and were off colored. Not exactly a welcoming sight. Breakfast in the morning had a nice selection of your usual continental items. It was kept clean and replenished during service. The fresh fruit selection was a welcomed addition you dont normally see.
Stayed in the rooms with two beds and one pull out couch/bed; the beds are pearched on 12" frames and the bed in front of the A/C is so high and so close, that the airflow from the A/C is blocked by the bed, the airflow doesn't circulate through to the far side of the room for this reason and it's noticeable; then add a human layer to the top of the bed and it's even more of an impedance of airflow. The A/C is cold and the filters are clean, the fridge is cold, and the water temperature is comfortable for showers too. Thank you.
