The Sheraton Mesa at Wrigleyville West receives mixed reviews, with notable praise for the staff and convenient location. However, recurring concerns regarding room cleanliness, maintenance issues (such as plumbing and loose floors), and inconsistent service persist across multiple reviews. While some guests highlight positive experiences with specific staff members and amenities, others report significant problems affecting their stay.
Beautiful view of Riverview lake, exterior window was dirty and killed the vibe. Shower was clogged, family had to bath in backed up water?. $20 for valet or check-in with your walking shoes, definitely a journey to get to room. Good area for shopping, entertainment, and eats. Front desk gentleman give him a raise, him and location definitely gave you a star back.
Great location but too many issues to overlook. The doors don’t work, room amenities are missing trays or don’t work and a busted toilet leaves a lovely scent of sewer drifting slowly out. The exterior is beautiful but underneath it all leaves a lot to be desired. Skip it unless you have an absence of smell and don’t mind being overlooked
Probably the nicest staff I’ve ever encountered at any hotel! From the valet and front desk to the housekeeping team and bartenders, everyone greeted me warmly—whether I was checking in, returning to the hotel, or just walking down the hall. The attached restaurant and bar were excellent, the pool area was inviting, and parking was plentiful and easy. It’s also the perfect location for a morning run or walk before the heat sets in. Excellent job, Sheraton—thank you for a fantastic stay!
This remains my all time favorite destination for Spring Training. You can’t beat walking across the street to the park. And the staff is exemplary - special appreciation for Austin’s service at Stats - exceptional service. The pool is lovely and the Curve bar is convenient and super friendly. Watching March Madness tournaments from the pool is unmatched. The rooms are showing their age and could use a bit of TLC. But housekeeping staff are so welcoming and committed to taking care of the guests. We’ll be back next year! Thanks to the entire team for such a lovely trip.
If every hotel hired a Jaxon, the hospitality industry would be undefeated. From the moment I walked into the Sheridan Hotel, Jaxon was on it. Fabulous. Fantastic. Attentive. Completely dialed in. The guy was all over his shit in the best possible way. anticipating needs, welcoming, professional, and genuinely enjoyable to interact with. First impressions matter, and if I’m going to be greeted at a hotel and have that kind of experience, it’s only coming from a Jaxon. He set the tone immediately and made the stay better before it even started. Kudos to him and to the Sheridan for having someone like this on the front lines. We were there for Swornfest 2026. Rooms were great and comfortable. We were lucky and got a 1st floor room which really helped. Staff was amazing, they went above and beyond to help out. Really enjoyed our stay there and felt welcomed. Would definitely go back.
I only have one negative comment about my room, specifically. The configuration of the shower was challenging. First, because of the way it was positioned, I was almost drenched when turning the water off or on. And the shower head was so high, it couldn’t be reached to be adjusted. Second, the soap holder was positioned at the front right corner of the shower. If I put my soap in it, I was drenched each time I reached for it. Third, the glass shower door opened inward. I felt like a contortionist trying to get the door closed when entering and opened when exiting without drenching my entire head and getting my hair sopping wet.
Fabulous location, peaceful, nice walk in park opposite and shops a short walk. I loved the hotel's decor, tasteful and peaceful. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. There were 2 major down sides. The cleaning of my room was a constant irritation. So simple, but I regularly had to go to reception to say that my toilet roll had not been topped up for days and I had run out, also had a build up of slime in a corner of the shower that was not touched for 10 days until I complained. Also had to flag that the room had a thick layer of dust and had not been vacuum cleaned for a while due to the debris on the carpet. My electronic key pad on the door had a cover that kept falling off but the cleaning staff never thought to say anything. Just not what you expect when paying Sheraton rates. The menu choice in the restaurant was really poor. There were only 2 items on the menu that I liked. One was the burger which was very nice but barely warm when it arrived. The other was a steak which was small and had been sliced up. I've never had a steak served like this and did not like it. The steak was barely warm too. It was suggested I try a pork dish which I did, and it was very tasty, but contained so little pork it was not worth having. Such a pity for such a lovely hotel
Good location. Was there for a show. Nice ballroom & lobby. It’s apparent they host a lot of events. The rooms need renovating tho. Most importantly, they are clean and comfortable, but I had loose floor tiles in my bathroom and a bipolar thermostat that wouldn’t hold a normal temperature. Shower was iffy-the faucet converter doesn’t really work well. There’s old nicked up furniture and lamps that have been retrofitted with built in phone chargers and outlets. That all said, the staff was awesome and beyond helpful no matter what time you arrive. The staff is by far the best and most appreciated asset here. Would love to see these rooms renovated so it matches the vibe downstairs.
Great location! Rooms are dirty and carpet is filthy! The doors do not lock properly and wall paper inside restroom coming apart. The shower not cleaned properly as you can see the hairs stuck on the drain! We booked the suite access which was available online with dates specified. As we arrived , we found out club is closed on the weekends! The pool is dirty. The staff sits inside the room near by and finally gets up to assist. I have never been greeted like this at any Sheraton! This was just not the experience I was expecfIng from a Marriott Property! The waitress at breakfast not even worth mentioning! Bottom line never staying at this location again!! !
