The Super 8 by Wyndham Phoenix/Mesa/Gilbert Road presents a mixed experience, with some guests praising cleanliness and comfortable beds, while others report significant issues with cleanliness, safety, and a lack of promised amenities. Recent reviews indicate improvements in cleanliness and location, but persist with concerns about breakfast, property maintenance, and potential safety issues.
Rooms are comfy and clean. You cant hear any traffic at night. The gm, "Kush", was awesome, and hands on, working side by side with his team. He was great with extending our work trip and even discounted an extra night. This was a surprisingly pleasant stay. Thanks to the whole staff.
The room was fine and the front desk employee was polite, but management showed a serious lack of compassion. When I was an hour late picking up my elderly, disabled mother, she was told she had to leave immediately and that the police could be called. She was calm, respectful, and caused no issues. Watching someone vulnerable be treated this way was upsetting and unnecessary. Based on this and past experiences with Super 8, I won’t be staying with this brand again or recommending it to others.
Do not stay here! Very sketchy area. Was looking forward to a comfy bed after a long day and was greeted to a bed bug and sheets full of disgusting stains instead. Just pay the extra and stay somewhere else.
Read the fine print. Even with a credit card on file they needed $50 cash deposit. Also the place is infested with drug addicts and a homeless encampmant out front. Immediatly got the stares and people trying to see if I had anything good in the car. AVOID!!!!
This is the second night in the last week that I have stayed in this location. I would have given them 5 stars had it not been for them lying about breakfast. Now, I didn't expect anything lavish, but I did at least expect coffee. The first night I that I stayed here I didn't get my lazy butt out of bed until 10am, so I blamed it on me being late. This morning I got down there at 7 am and just like a few days before they only had slightly warm coffee. Now, to be fair, they did have sugar this time, but nothing else that could have been construed as breakfast. I'm certain that no matter how many stars I gave them, it wouldn't change the fact that they don't have breakfast and that they are still liars. Now just like the other day, the bed was comfortable, there was clean linen, and the room was clean. This place is highly recommendable. Just, do not kid yourself that there is anything remotely breakfast like in the lobby and you'll enjoy your experience.
We were greeted by police at the entrance as we go to check in escorting someone out in handcuffs. Than to be across from the crime scene. Lol the cop standing guard was polite. Felt safe though since they were there through out the night. Only +. Our restroom door wouldn't close at all. And No Continental Breakfast offered.
wow the improvement over the last 2 years on this place is honestly awesome! much cleaner, less homeless / druggies wondering around, it's almost where I'd say you could bring your kids there n feel okay about it! staff is okay, can seem kinda irritated more than I'd like, rooms are clean or everyone I get is, & the AC is always blasting cold for when I enter, gotta love that! Pool area is clean & had a good swim last time I went, only bummer is the breakfast or lack of! cmon guys step up the breakfast game, pop tarts? lol oatmeal packs. ? SOMETHING!
All in all it was a awesome experience. Bertha allowed one of her employees help get my stuff together and brought to the lobby so it would be easier for me to load my car. I have serious issues with my feet and legs so I was very grateful for that. The 24/7 coffee was a very nice touch. Ty to everyone at super 8
This is a wonderful hotel if you just need a place to stay for the night while in Phoenix. It is cheap, the AC blows cold, the beds are comfortable, and the shower is great. However, there is no breakfast. Well, my apologies, they did have a bowl of chewy granola bars available lol! I would have given the five stars because it is a cheap hotel and you get what you pay for, but since they advertise a breakfast and it is literally a bowl of granola bars, I gave the four stars. Also, and keep in mind, this is a weekly and monthly as well, there are clearly people that live here. If you are by yourself it is kind of a sketchy place and you may want to pick another hotel.
My experience at this super 8 has been absolutely terrible. I was placed in a room where the TV did not work it's 105 degrees out and the a/C was turned off in my room making it unbearable for the first hour or so. No body wash in the bathroom, big crack in the window held together with packing tape. Continental breakfast was the only reason I chose this hotel and was very disappointed to go downstairs to a crappy coffee maker and big box of the cheapest most unhealthy granola bars you can buy... Oh and some out of date bagels from the local grocery store that are hard as a rock
